The Snowy Mountains is a great place for a ride, and Tumut is a perfect place to stop on your ride through the snowy's. Its a bike friendly town with plenty of places to eat and relax after a day in the saddle. Our accommodation is perfect after a day on the bike.
The Snowies is well served by a network of sealed roads boasting spectacular scenery. These are all great riding roads. Ensure you ride the loop of towns: Cooma, Berridale, Jindabyne, Thredbo, Khancoban, Tumbarumba, Batlow, Tumut and Adaminaby.
The Snowy Mountains area can be accessed from either Canberra or Tumut in the north, Bega on the coast and Albury to the west.
At the Amaroo Motel our accommodation carters for motorcycles. Our facilities lend themselves to large groups of bikes. Most rooms surround a central courtyard area with an undercover parking area. The area is off the street and away from prying eyes for good security.

When travelling by car, the Snowy Mountains Drive is a great touring route to explore the region in all its glory. This is a drive like no other: the country's highest mountains; some of the most diverse flora and fauna; towns bursting with historic and cultural stories and it's the home of some of Australia's most famous icons.

Ensure you drive the loop of towns: Bredbo, Cooma, Berridale, Jindabyne, Thredbo, Khancoban, Tumbarumba, Batlow, Tumut and Adaminaby. From each town, you can visit attractions and settlements nearby and learn the history by being surrounded by it.

For fans of hot rods, the Tumut Rod and Custom car show is on every 2nd August.
